St John extends Christmas season giving to RSPCA WA
Two of WA’s leading not-for-profit organisations are working together this Christmas.
Pet lovers and gift buyers will know they are doing a good thing when they buy a St John Ambulance pet first aid kit, with $10 of each sale being donated to RSPCA WA.
To promote this initiative St John and RSPCA WA invited award winning Perth pet and animal photographer Alex Cearns from Houndstooth Studio to photograph paramedic Angela Wright and rescue animals Perry and Moggy.
Angela said she finds having pets rewarding and she loves having a connection with animals. She has several horses, including an ex-racehorse previously destined for euthanasia, two dogs, one of which she rehomed, and a rescue cat.
“Animals and animal welfare is a big part of my life and I think RSPCA WA does a great job when it comes to looking after sick and injured pets,” Angela said.
“This initiative is one small way animal lovers can extend their care and support for animals in need. It is an opportunity to give these animals a second chance at life with a great new owner.”
Maree Daniels, Executive Manager Community Engagement at RSPCA WA said, “We’re very grateful that St John has chosen to donate part proceeds from their pet first aid kits to RSPCA WA.
“We rely on donations and community support to generate more than 90% of the funds required to sustain our animal protection work, so donations of all sizes are so important to allow us to continue caring for neglected and abandoned animals who need our help.”
The kits sell for $25 each and can be bought from stjohnambulance.com.au or through the St John retail outlet on Lapage Street, Belmont. The kit which is designed for pre and post vet care, includes swabs, dressings, antiseptic wipes, saline and bandages.
